NORTH-PETHERTON, northern division of the hundred
of PETHERTON, county of SOMERSET, 4 miles (S.)
from Bridg-water. The population is returned with
the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the
archdeaconry of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and
Wells, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and
£600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir Thomas
D. Acland, Bart.
