NORMANTON (TEMPLE), a chapelry in the
parish of CHESTERFIELD, hundred of SCARSDALE, county
of DERBY, 3 miles (S.E.) from Chesterfield, containing
141 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in
the archdeaconry of Derby, and diocese of Lichfield
and Coventry, endowed with £ 1400 royal bounty, and
in the patronage of Miss Lord. A school is supported
by small annual donations.
