NORTON, a parish in the hundred of FAVERSHAM,
lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 3 miles (W.) from
Faversham, containing 98 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury,
rated in the king's books at £ 10. 18. 4., and in the patronage
of the Bishop of Rochester. The church, dedicated
to St. Mary, is principally in the early English
style of architecture.
