ORMSBY (ST-MARGARET), a parish in the eastern division of the hundred of FLEGG, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (N. W.) from Caistor, containing, with Scratby, 687 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, with the perpetual curacy of Ormsby St. Michael, and with which was united, in 1548, the vicarage of Scrowtby, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £10. 0. 10., endowed with £210 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Norwich.
