OVERTON (COLD), a parish forming, with the
parishes of Somerby and Withcote, a detached portion
of the hundred of FRAMLAND, county of LEICESTER,
7 miles (S. E. by S.) from Melton-Mowhray, containing
123 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the
archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln,-rate.d
in the king's books at £19. 12. 3., and in the patronage
of E. H. Wigley, Esq. The church is dedicated
to St. John the Baptist.
