OVINGTON, a parish in the hundred of WAYLAND,
county of NORFOLK, 1 mile (N. N. E.) from Watton,
containing 219 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the king's books at £7. 3. 6., and in the patronage
of the Chancellor, Masters, and Scholars of the
University of Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St.
John, the Evangelist.
