PACKWOOD, a parish in the Warwick division of the hundred of KINGTON, county of WARWICK, 4 miles (N. N. E.) from Henley in Arden, containing 279 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Manorial Court of Packwood, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £800 royal bounty/ and in the patronage of Earl Cornwallis. The church is dedicated to St. Giles. The Stratford on Avon canal passes through the parish.
