PARHAM, a parish in the hundred of WEST-EASWRITH, rape of ARUNDEL, county of SUSSEX, 6 miles (N. E. by N.) from Arundel, containing 77 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chichester, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage of Lord de la Zouche. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is in the later style of English architecture: it was repaired and the tower added in 1800, and has an ancient leaden font in good preservation. Here was formerly a cell to the abbey of Glastonbury.
