PEBMARSH, a parish in the hundred of HINCKFORD,
county of ESSEX, 3 miles (N. E. by E.) from Halsted,
containing 601 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,
in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London,
rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage
of the Earl of Verulam. The church is dedicated
to St. John the Baptist.
