PENNARD (WEST), a parish in the hundred of GLASTON-TWELVE-HIDES, county of SOMERSET, 3 miles (E. by S.) from Glastonbury, containing 890 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed Jo that of St. John the Baptist in Glastonbury, and in the peculiar jurisdiction of Glastonbury, endowed -with £ 1400 parliamentary grant. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
