PEVINGTON, a parish in the hundred of CALEHILL,
lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 4 miles (S. W. by W.)
from Charing. The population is returned with the
parish of Pluckley. The living is a rectory, united to
that of Pluckley, in the archdeaconry and diocese of
Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £5. 13. 4. The
church, now in ruins, was dedicated to St. Mary.
