PLEASINGTON, a township in the parish, and
lower division of the hundred, of BLACKBURN, county
palatine of LANCASTER, 3 miles (VV. by S.) from
Blackburn, containing 625 inhabitants. A handsome
Roman Catholic chapel, called Pleasington Priory, was
erected by the late J. F. Butler Esq.
