PONTON (LITTLE), a parish in the wapentake of WINNIBRIGGS-and-THREO, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (S. S.E.) from Grantharn, containing 180 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7. 10., and in the patronage of the Rev. Dr. Dewdeswell. The church is dedicated to St. Guthlake. A silver Trajan was found in digging near the high dyke in this parish.
