POPHAM, a parish in the hundred of MITCHELDEVER,
Basingstoke division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON,
7 miles (S. W.) from Basingstoke, containing
98 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the
archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, and in the
patronage of Sir Thomas Baring, Bart. The church is
dedicated to St. Catherine.
