PORINGLAND, or PORINGLAND-WEST (LITTLE), a parish in
the hundred of HENSTEAD, county of NORFOLK, 5
miles (S. S. E.) from Norwich. The population is returned
with Great Poringland. The living is a perpetual
curacy, united, in 1728, to the rectory of Howe, in
the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich.
The church is dedicated to St. Michael.
