QUATFORD, a parish partly in the borough of
BRIDGENORTH, but chiefly in the hundred of STOTTESDEN,
county of SALOP, 2 miles (S. E.) from Bridgenorth,
containing, with the township of Eardington, 411 inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, in the jurisdiction
of the royal peculiar court of Bridgenorth, endowed
with £ 14 per annum private benefaction, £ 800
royal bounty, and £ 1000 parliamentary grant, and in
the patronage of W. Whitmore, Esq. The church is
dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene.
