REDLINGFIELD, a parish in the hundred of HARTISMERE, county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (S. E.) from Eye, containing 222 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £400 private bene faction, and £ 800 royal bounty. A. Adair, Esq. was patron in 1825. A Benedictine nunnery, in honour of St. Andrew, was founded here, in 1120, by Manasses, Earl of Ghisness, and Emma his wife, the revenue of which, at the dissolution, was valued at £ 81. 2. 5.
