ROLLESTON, a parish in the northern division of the wapentake of THURGARTON, county of NOTTINGHAM, 4 miles (W. by S.) from Newark, containing 306 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £10. 1. 3., and in the patronage of the Chapter of the Collegiate Church of Southwell. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The village is situated on the river Trent, which receives a smaller stream that bounds the parish on the west.
