ROWINGTON, a parish in the Henley division of the hundred of BARLICHWAY, county of WARWICK, 6 miles (N. W. by W.) from Warwick, containing 888 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £7. 11. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church, dedicated to St. Lawrence, is a cruciform structure, principally in the Norman style. The Warwick and Birmingham canal passes through the parish. National schools, for about ninety children of both sexes, are supported out of the annual income arising from the poor's estate.
