RUSCOMB, a parish in the hundred of SONNING, county of BERKS, 5 miles (E. N. E.) from Reading, containing 208 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, and in the patronage of the Prebendary of Combe and Harnham in the Cathedral Church of Salisbury. The church is dedicated to St. James, In the chancel lie buried the remains of Lord Chief Justice Eyre, who occasionally resided here. There is a place of worship for Independents.
