RUSHBURY, a parish in the hundred of MUNSLOW, county of SALOP, 4 miles (E. S. E.) from Church- Stretton, containing, with .the townships of East-Wall, Gretton, Lutwytch with Stanway, Rushbury, Stone-Acton, and Wall under Hay wood, 47 8 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £19. 7 8., and in the patronage of the Bishop of Worcester. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. This is presumed to be the site of the Roman station Braviniwm, situated between Old Radnor and Worcester. A market and a fair, granted by Edward I., were formerly held here.
