SALTFORD, a parish in the hundred of KEYNSHAM, county of SOMERSET, 5 miles (W. N. W.) from Bath, containing 327 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Bath, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £ 10. 5. 10., and in the patronage of the Duke of Buckingham. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The parish is bounded on the east and on the north by the river Avon, on the banks of which there are extensive brass works.
