SATLEY, a chapelry in that part of the parish of LANCHESTER which is in the western division of CHESTER ward, county palatine of DURHAM, 5 miles (N. E. by N.) from Wolsingham, containing 103 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Durham, endowed with & 1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Perpetual Curate of Lanchester. There is a school supported by subscription.
