SATTERLEIGH, a parish in the hundred of SOUTH-MOLTON,
county of DEVON, 3 miles (S. W. by W.)
from South Molton, containing 55 inhabitants. The
living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of
Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's
books at £4. 0. 7., endowed with £400 private benefaction,
and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of John Bawden, Esq. The church is dedicated to St.
Peter.
