SCOTHERN, a parish in the wapentake of LAWRESS,
parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 5 miles (N. E.
by N.) from Lincoln, containing 366 inhabitants. The
living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of
Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books
at £4. 5. 2., endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in
the patronage of the Earl of Scarborough. The church
is dedicated to St. German.
