SEARBY, a parish, joint with Owmby, in the southern
division of the wapentake of YARBOROXIGH, parts
of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (N. W.) from
Caistor, containing, with Owmby, 247 inhabitants. The
living is a discharged rectory, with the vicarage of
Owmby annexed, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage
of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln, rated
in the king's books at £8. The church is dedicated
to St. Nicholas.
