SHAWDON, a township in the parish of WHITTINGHAM,
northern division of COQUETDALE ward,
county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 7 miles (W.) from
Alnwick, containing 77 inhabitants. Two ancient urns
of common earthenware were found in the neighbourhood
some years ago.
