SHEARSBY, a chapelry in that part of the parish
of KNAPTOFT which is in the hundred of GUTHLAXTON,
county of LEICESTER, 7 miles (N. E.) from Lutterworth,
containing 310 inhabitants. The chapel is dedicated
to St. Mary Magdalene. Here is a saline spring,
the water of which has been found serviceable in scorbutic
affections.
