SHEEPWASH, a parish with Bothall, in the eastern division of MORPETH ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 4 miles (E.) from Morpeth, containing, with Ashington, 50 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to that of Bothall, in the archdeaconry of Northumberland, and diocese of Durham, rated in the king's books at £3. 17. 1. The church, which has been demolished, was dedicated to the Holy Sepulchre. The river Wansbeck, which is navigable for keels and small boats, is here crossed by a bridge.
