SHELLOW-BOWELS, a parish in the hundred of
DUNMOW, county of ESSEX, 6 miles (N. E.) from Chipping-
Ongar, containing 114 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, consolidated with that of Willingale-
Doe, in the jurisdiction of the Commissary of
Essex and Herts, concurrently with the Consistorial
Court of the Bishop of London, rated in the king's
books at £7. 13. 4. The church is dedicated to St.
Peter and St. Paul.
