SHILTON, a parish in the Kirby division of the hundred of KNIGHTLOW, county of WARWICK, 5 miles (N. E.) from Coventry, containing 396 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Coventry, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. The Oxford canal crosses the southern portion of the parish.
