SHOTTESHAM (ST-MARY), a parish in the hundred of HENSTEAD, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (N. N. E.) from St. Mary Stratton, containing, with the parish of Shottesham St. Martin, 383 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £ 5, and in the patronage of the Earl of Albemarle. The church of St. Botolph has been demolished; and the living, a discharged vicarage, was annexed in 1311 to this parish.
