SIBBERTOFT, a parish in the hundred of ROTHWELL,
county of NORTHAMPTON, 5 miles (S. W.) from
Market-Harborough, containing 406 inhabitants. The
living is a vicarage, annexed to that of Welford, in the
archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough,
rated in the king's books at £6. 4. 9. The
church is dedicated to St. Helen. There is a place of
worship for Wesleyan Methodists. A spot here, called
Castle-yard, is supposed to be the site of an ancient
castle.
