SIMPSON, a parish in the hundred of NEWPORT,
county of BUCKINGHAM, 1 mile (N. by E.) from
Fenny-Stratford, containing, exclusively of the chapelry
of Fenny-Stratford, part of which is in this parish, 395
inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the
king's books at £ 17. 6. 8., and in the patronage of Sir
J. Hanmer, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas.
