SKELLINGTHORPE, a parish in the lower division of the wapentake of BOOTHBY-GRAFFO, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 5 miles (W.) from Lincoln, containing 370 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £6. 18. 9-, endowed with £200 royal bounty, and £400 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Misses F. and S. Dowbiggin. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
