SKILLINGTON, a parish in the wapentake of
BELTISLOE, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 3
miles (N. W. by W.) from Colsterworth, containing 364
inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the
peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln,
rated in the king's books at £4.19. 4., endowed
with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of -
Whitelock, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. James.
There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
