SLAWSTON, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE,
county of LEICESTER, 5 miles (N. E. by N.) from
Market-Harborough, containing 228 inhabitants. The
living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of
Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's
books at £6. 5. 7., endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the- Crown. The church is dedicated to All Saints.
