SNORING (GREAT), a parish in the northern division
of the hundred of GREENHOE, county of NORFOLK,
1 mile (S. S. E.) from Little Walsingham, containing
360 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with
that of Thursford annexed, in the archdeaconry and
diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £24,
and in the patronage of the Master and Fellows of St.
John's College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to
St. Mary.
