SOUTH-HILL, a parish in the middle division of the hundred of EAST, county of CORNWALL, 3 miles (N. W.) from Callington, containing 534 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Callington annexed, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £38, and in the patronage of Lord Clinton. The church is dedicated to St. Sampson. John Knill, in 1747, gave £5 per annum for teaching children and relieving the poor.
