STAINTON-by-LANGWORTH, a parish in the western
division of the wapentake of WRAGGOE, parts of
LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 5 miles (W.) from Wragby,
containing, with the hamlets of Newball and Reasby,
182 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in
the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the
king's books at £4. 18. 4., and in the patronage of the
Earl of Scarborough. The church is dedicated to St.
John the Baptist.
