STALLINGBOROUGH, a parish in the eastern division of the wapentake of YARBOROUGH, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 7? miles (W. N. W.) from Great Grimsby, containing 343 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £11.10. 10., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Lincoln. The church, dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, with its tower, fell down in 1746; the chancel, and the burial-place of the Ayscough family, were afterwards rebuilt. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Four poor children are instructed for a trifling annuity, the bequest of John Appleby.
