STENIGOT, a parish in the northern division of
the wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county
of LINCOLN, 5 miles (S. W. by W.) from Louth, containing
107 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln,
rated in the king's books at £7. 12. 3., and in the
patronage of Mrs. Arlington. The church is dedicated
to St. Nicholas.
