STOCKLINCH (MAGDALENE), a parish in the
hundred of ABDICK-and-BULSTONE, county of SOMERSET,
2 miles (N.E.) from Ilminster, containing 79 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells,
rated in the king's books at £4. 4. 7., endowed with
£200 private benefaction, £200 royal bounty, and
£300 parliamentary grant. Robert Dent, Esq. and
others were patrons in 1803. The church is dedicated
to St. Mary Magdalene.
