The living is & discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Berks, anddiocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at. £8. 19. 4., endowed with £200 private . benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the- Provost and Fellows of Eton College. The church is. dedicated to St. Mary, and in the east window is a portrait of William of Wykeham, in stained glass. There is a place of worship for Independents. Fairs are held on April 27th and November 6th.
