STRUBBY, a parish in the Wold division of the
hundred of CALCEWORTH, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 4 miles (N.) from Alford, containing, with
Woodthorp, 255 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage
of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln, rated in the king's
books at £4. 13. 4., and endowed with £200 royal
bounty. The church is dedicated to St. Oswald.
