SUFFIELD, a parish in the northern division of the hundred of ERPINGHAM, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (W. by N.) from North Walsham, containing 238 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £ 14, and in the patronage of Lord Suffield. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret. Suffield gives the title of baron to the family of Harbord.
