SULHAMPSTEAD-BANNISTER, a parish in the
hundred of THEALE, county of BERKS, 6 miles (Sw,
by W.) from Reading, containing 315 inhabitants. The
living is a rectory, annexed to that of Sulhampstead-
Abbotts, in the archdeaconry of Berks, and diocese of
Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £6. 5. The
church is dedicated to St. Michael. The river Kennet
runs through the parish.
