SUTTON-by-DOVOR, a parish in the hundred of
CORNILO, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, 4
miles (S. W. byw.) from Deal, containing 154 inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the
vicarage of Northbourne, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Canterbury, endowed with £200. private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty. The church, dedicated
to St. Peter and St. Paul, is a small ancient structure,
in the early English style, with a circular east end, but
no tower.
