SWALLOWCLIFFE, a parish in the hundred of
DUNWORTH, county of WILTS, 6 miles (S. E.) from
Hindon, containing 252 inhabitants. The living is a
perpetual curacy, and constitutes also the endowment
of a prebend in the church of Heytesbury, in the
peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Dean of Salisbury,
as Dean of Heytesbury, rated in the king's
books at £8. 13. 4.
