SWANBOURNE, a parish in the hundred of COTTESLOE, county of BUCKINGHAM, 2 miles (E.) from Winslow, containing 616 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in. the king's books at £9. 9. 7., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Swithin. There is a place of worship for Baptists. Nicholas Godwin, in 1712, bequeathed £15 per annum for teaching poor children.
